As you can tell, Nike has been focusing a lot of energy on dunks this year. Well here is the latest collection from the Nike family which is called the Japan Pack. The pack consist of four different pairs of dunks. Each dunk celebrates a city in Japan. The four cities represented are Tokyo(white/black), Nagoya(gold/green), Fukoaka(retro colorway), and Osaka(red/white/sky blue). My favorite ones will have to be the Tokyo joints. I just like the colorway and simplicity of them. They are more versatile and will have more of an longevity then the other 3. Also if you check out the laces, they are not your typical laces. Not quite sure what material it is but if I get information on them, I will relay them to you. I also like them because of what they represent, Ling Ling, the giant panda who arrived in Japan in 1970. Nagoya dunks represents the symbol of the city which a gold dolphin. This landmark sits atop the roof of the Nagoya Castle. The Fukoaka dunks pays homeage to a festival which is noted to be over 750 years old. The festival is called Yamakasa. For these, each side of the shoe has different decoration and colours. The Osaka dunks is nicknamed the Doutonbori dunk and it pays tribute to the food in Osaka as well one of the most famous Osakan icons, a drumming doll. Check out these pics I got off of sneakerfreaker.com.
