What to Look For

Todays what to look for is all about the ladies. There are some hot kickz out there for the ladies, you just have to keep your eyes open.

First up is a pair of Nike Womens Blazers High. The color scheme is sail, logan berry, dark army and light bone. I like the patent leather check and back piece of the sneaker. It is simple but that logan berry color is different pops right out at you coming off of the light bone.

These right here are sweet. A pair of premium womens Air Force 1s. The colorway is urban haze and blue ice. Towards the back of the shoe is and interpretation of croc skin.

Now these Premium Court Forces are sick. They are called the "Lemonade". These are actually old but I have not seen many girls with them. Let me rephrase that, I have barely seen a female with them on. When I saw these out in LA a couple years back, I was tempted to get them myself. The store didnt have my size but that is a different story. These color scheme on these joints is but of course, lemonad and green bean. Comes with an extra pair of laces(green bean). And also has Lemons engraved into the leather through out the sneaker. Just the lemonade color stands out to me. Nike did a good job with these joints.

Bring it Back

Since tomorrow is the start of the baseball season, I felt it was only right to take a look at a pair classic kicks from the 90s. The Ken Griffey "Griffey Max" to be exact. Released in 1996 while he was playing with the Mariners, these kickz are the best looking ones out of all the joints that Nike produce for him. Here is a few pics of them in two different color-ways.

Are They Really The Future???

Robots are taking over some say, well in the street culture, the clothing line Robot has already done that. Robot has been around 11 strong years now. They made their first appearance to the world in the winter of 1997. A champion hoodie with Robot blazoned across the chest. Robot kept themselves as an exclusive brand by only doing one spring run and one winter run of limited quantities.

From Baltimore to Los Angelos, the demand of Robot grew rapidly. The streets began to ask about the brand and artist started requesting pieces. The brand didnt start out for everybody. You would only get a Robot piece if you was down with the crew.

Heres is a few pics of Robots apparel...

Robot varsity jacket.

Robot "3x" tee which was featured in an AT&T commercial.

New collaboration between DCMA x Robot.

Common definately knows... "Robot is the Future".

"Robot isn't just a street brand. Robot is our art, our code, our accumulated crew/fam. Robot is our lif. Robot is what we represent." Just a few words from the makers of Robot.

New Balance making a come up, hmmm...

Provider x New Balance 1500

New Balance, a brand that is not highly accepted in New York streets is highly accepted by me. I am not talking about the general releases that you see everything. I am talking about their highly detailed kickz that do not even get released in the United States. Through my high-school days New Balance was my favorite brand only because at the moment I could not afford names like Nike or Jordan. But during that time they grew on me. The simplicity of the shoe and comfort in them is one of a kind. I can remember it like it yesterday. A pair of 574 cool grey and ice blue with a grey Mecca shirt(thats what i wore back then), Lee Dungarees, yup i said Buddy Lees and my Jansport back pack. Those were the days. Dont be suprise if you see me this summer rocking some N/Bs that you have not seen before.

Just to back up my point, here is a few pics of some N/Bs that were released in other areas other NYC... hope yall like...

Lupe's All Star Chuck Taylor

Pictures have surfaced of a Lupe Fiasco designed All Star which is allegedly not slated for release. This joints are sick. Check out the patent leather on the upper part of the shoe. Color way is not out of the world but it is still eye-catchy. Here is a few pics for you all.

What To Look For

I was just on hypebeast.com, checking for some kicks I need to add to my closet and I fell upon these.

These are the Air Tech Challenge II which is being retroed in a "Hot Lava" color. They will retail at $100.

Here is a pair of Air Structure Triax. Retroed from 1991, Nike re-released a pair of them in a sick color-way about 2 months ago.

Both sneakers can be found at Proper(Longbeach, CA) already. Look for them to be hitting the streets of New York pretty soon.

thE cOOl

To commerate Lupe Fiasco's album "The Cool", Lupe, Maharishi and Dr. Romanelli teamed together to create two reversible jackets. The jacket is quilted silk satin and the embroidery is all done by hand. The jackets have symbolisms from his sophmore album.

Here is a few pictures of the jackets. Both jackets are available in limited quantities at Solebox. This item is hard to get your hands on if you do not live in Berlin, Germany but its hot so I had to post it. If really interested, check ebay pretty soon. I am sure it will be up there.

Home Coming

Tonight, yes I said tonight, Allen Iverson makes his way back to Philadelphia to play against the team that drafted him. This is his first visit to Philly since he was traded to the Denver Nuggets last year. I only wonder how the fans will accept his home coming. Hopefully with love because he did nothing but gives his all to the team and organization on the court. Now off the court is a different story, but we are not going to go into that today.

Well for you fans who miss seeing him in a 76ers uniform, here is a few pictures of A.I. back in the days.

Allen Iverson is ranked third in PPG(26.4), eigth in APG(7.2) and ninth in SPG(1.9). His career scoring average is 27.8 and has 22,596 total career points. The 1996-97 Rookie of the Year and 2001 MVP has boasted a phenomal career. The only thing missing is that luxurious championship ring which I pray he gets.

Under the Radar

Hmmm, lets see. If I was to mention names such as Stussy, Supreme and Nort/Recon, everybody will be able to relate with me. But what if I mentioned stores like Secret Society, Goliath, and Moes Sneaker Spot, could everybody relate with me then. Some people will say yes, most will say no, and others would either say they have heard of them but was never really interested. Well I am telling you from experience, these stores are well worth the travel.

Moes Sneaker Spot, located in Jamaica, Queens, is a store that has been around since the late 80s. Inside of the Coliseum Mall on 165th and Jamaica Avenue you can find a store for everybodies preference in sneakers. There is a wide selection of kickz from Nike, Reebok, Adidas and even down to DCs and Vans. What I like about Moes is that they are ahead of most small boutiques and keep up with the boutiques in SoHo. You will be able to stay local and pick up sneakers that the rest of your neighborhood has not seen yet.

Secret Society, another mom and pop shop located in Elmhurst, Queens is well worth the travel. With a wide selection in SBs and premium Air Force 1s, you cant go wrong. Just recently S.S. opened up its clothing store located right next door. The store does not just carry their own products, they have a wide selection in Reason, 10 Deep and Red Clay.

Goliath, a harlem based store, located on the upper east side is just a train ride away from SoHo. The uptown 6 to 103rd and a walk of two blocks to 105th. This shop is well organized and has a wide selection in 10 Deep and Diamond Supply Co. They also have their own brand with crew-necks, hoodies and tee shirts. One of their shirts says "Do The Harlem Thing" and I must admit, Goliath is really "Doing the Harlem Thing".

OG classics

Today is tuesday, and each and every tuesday from now on is "Bring It Back Tuesday". This is a day where we take a look back at a pair of classic kickz in its OG form.

This weeks classics are the Troops "Ice Lamb" lows. A brand that was released in the early 80s. Troops became big on the scene retailing at $75. If you compare that to our modern day show price, then you can say it is equivalent to buying a pair of Spiz'ike. These classics had a hip-hop influence as they were worn by rappers such as LL Cool J and MC Hammer.

Reports from numerous sorces state that these classics are trying to make another comeback. Some sources even state that the Mid-West rapper Nelly, is the backing force in rejuvanating the comeback.

These are a few pics of the new releases. From just my opinion, I am not attracted to them at all. If Troop is going to make a come back, they should start with the OGs in retro form. Come back with styles such as the "Ice Lambs", "Regencys", and the "Cobras".
